Regional Sales Manager, California + Expansion States

Remote (United States) / Santa Barbara, CA

Classtime is transforming K-12 learning worldwide. With offices in Zurich, Switzerland, and Santa Barbara, California, our solution has proven impact on student outcomes in high-stakes state testing across Math, ELA, and Science. As we expand our impact in the U.S., we are seeking a seasoned K-12 sales leader to own and grow the California territory and help lead our broader national growth strategy.

Regional Sales Manager, California + Expansion States
This is not a typical corporate sales role. You will closely collaborate with a high-energy team to run California as a business unit—managing budget, sales tactics, event sponsorships, conferences, and strategic partnerships. You’ll also work on a set of additional high-priority states to develop early adoption and pilot traction.

You will be empowered to use your deep experience, trusted relationships, and sales instincts to drive meaningful growth. We are looking for someone who doesn’t need to be told what to do—but instead wants to help shape what comes next. In return, you will have the opportunity to share in the value you help create.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies tailored to California, with expansion responsibility in other target states
- Drive pipeline generation through direct outreach, relationships, and conference participation
- Engage directly with decision-makers, including Chief Academic Officers, Directors of Curriculum, and Assistant Superintendents of Instruction, or similar
- Manage sales cycles from discovery to close, including RFP/RFI submission
- Deliver product demos and consultative presentations to district-level stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with marketing and customer success teams to drive district adoption and long-term value

Key Requirements
- Proven track record in K-12 curriculum sales and a strong understanding of K-12 district buying cycles, especially in California
- Established relationships with academic leaders in districts (CAO, Curriculum Directors, etc.)
- Strategic thinker who can operate autonomously and prioritize high-impact activity
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, fast growth, and entrepreneurial environments
- Willingness to travel for key meetings and events
- Passion for improving education outcomes through scalable technology
- Strong references that speak to performance, integrity, and collaborative spirit

Compensation & Benefits
- On Target Earnings (OTE): $200,000 - $300,000 (Base Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 annual base salary, based on experience, plus uncapped Commission: $100,000 - $250,000 tied to performance)
- Stock option awards based on experience and impact
- Health coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- Remote-first with travel for customers and conferences
